Supplementing Your U of L Experience II

The University of Lethbridge offers its students a broad range of activities and services to enhance a students' University experience.


EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

Exchange programs are a great way of expanding knowledge and diversifying minds. The UofL has an International Centre for Students (ICS) that aims to assist students with any questions or concerns regarding exchanges and to provide support for international students with academic or personal issues.

Full time Students

The UofL offers its full time students the opportunity to study abroad. Students must be in their second year of studies (or greater) and fulfill all eligibility requirements. Imagine completing a semester in one of the following Post Secondary institutions:

  • Southern Cross University (Lismore, Australia)
  • Muskingum College (New Concord, Ohio, USA)
  • Hokkai-Guericke University (Sapporo, Japan)
  • Otto-von-Guericke University (Magdeburg, Germany)
  • Ulsan University (Ulsan, Korea)
  • Chanterbury Christ Church (England, UK)

Management Students

The Faculty of Management offers exchange programs with 15 partner institutions. Students can qualify to complete a semester in one of many different countries. Here is a list of some of the institutions available:

  • Argentina - Universidad Blas Pascal
  • France - Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Dijon
  • Mexico - Universidad Panamericana
  • Spain - Universidad de Jaen
  • Taiwan - National Sun Yat-Sen University

There are many eligibility requirements. Students interested in the program should visit the Faculty of Management site at http://www.uleth.ca/man-int/

International Students

The International Centre for Students (ICS) provides various services for the University's international students. Anything from Pre-arrival guides, to Orientation Programs and Special Interst Workshops can be located at the ICS. For a complete list of services provided click here.

Visiting Students

The UofL also has a Visiting Student Program. Students can spend a semester at a different University while still being enrolled as a UofL student. This program is offered to students in the Bachelor of Arts department and who are majoring in one of the following modern languages: French, German, French/German, French/ Spanish. Students majoring in French are encouraged to try the French Visiting Student Program where students will spend a semester studying abroad at a Francophone University. OPPORTUNITIES

There are all sorts of opportunities available for UofL students. They can enjoy extra curricular activities including various clubs and intramural sports teams, seek employment and be kept posted on all the upcoming events.

Job Opportunities

Students can log onto their Bridge accounts and access workopoliscampus.com. Click on the "Registar's Office & Student Services" link, then the "CES Jobs Online" link. Follow the instructions and post a resume, or check out the latest available positions. Students can also view recent job postings listed on the Notice Board.

Clubs

There are many ratified clubs at the UofL ranging from The Anthropology Club to Trolls Rugby. They are a cheap and easy way to meet new people and get involved at the UofL. Students can also make their own club by clicking on the next link, and following the Club Ratification Rules. For a complete list of clubs, click here

Activities

The UofL Sports & Recreation Services has an "Activity Guide" that lists a variety of extracurricular programs students can sign up for. The UofL offers dance programs, wall climbing, kyaking....etc to name a few. Pick up a copy of the Activity Guide at PE 209. (Pys. Ed.
