Stuff to Do

Have you ever been sitting at home bored wishing that you had something interesting, fun or exciting to do? If you have, you should take a look at the list of activities I have compiled after scouring the U of L and the greater Lethbridge community. I believe this list has something for everyone. So check it out and get on the train – the fun train that is!

What to do at the U of L

Campus Clubs

Clubs are a great way to get involved on campus and to meet people that share the same interests as you. With over 50 ratified clubs on campus there should be something for everyone, but if you can’t find anything you can create your own club! For all you need to know about university clubs visit http://www.ulsu.ca/Web2/Main/Clubs.htm or take a trip to the Students Union office located on the first floor of the Students Union Building (SU 180).

Sports/Physical Activity
To find out about the Sport and Recreation services available on campus, including; intramurals, athletic programs, the max bell aquatic centre and the new health and wellness centre take some time and explore: http://www.uleth.ca/sportrec or stop by the Sport and Recreation office located on the second floor of the Physical Education Building (PE 209).

If you are more of a sports fan then a sports doer, find out when the next Pronghorns home game is at, http://horns.uleth.ca/ or at the Sports and Recreation office (PE 209).

Drama, Music and Art
If you are in search of a cultural experience consider attending one of the universities theatre productions, a musical performance or visiting the university art gallery.

For information about theatrical and musical events go to www.uleth.ca/ffa/events or the Box Office (W 510) or call 329-2616.

The U of L main Art Gallery, located in W 600, is open for everyone’s viewing pleasure from 10am – 4:30pm every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and from 10am – 8:30pm on Thursdays. If you would like to find out more about the gallery visit www.uleth.ca/artgallery

Lectures
If you are interested in attending the next lecture in the universities lecture series go to www.uleth.ca/lecture for information about when and where the next lecture will be.

Stuff to do in Lethbridge

I have called Lethbridge home for the entire 21 years of my existence and contrary to what some might say there is ‘stuff’ to do.

Sports and Leisure
Within Lethbridge and the greater Southern Alberta community there are plenty of ways to stay active. Visit the City of Lethbridge’s Leisure and Recreation Services website http://www.lethbridge.ca/home/Enjoying+Lethbridge/Leisure+and+Recreation+Activities/default.htm

If you are interested in skiing or snowboarding Castle Mountain Resort is just a 90 minute drive and offers a discounted ticket price for students, so bring your ID. Check out www.skicastle.ca for directions and more information. If you can’t find a ride, contact Alpenland Ski & Sports about riding with the ski bus that usually goes to the hill every Saturday and Sunday of the season, phone 329-6099.

Arts and Culture
View the work of local artists at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. The gallery is located at 601 – 3rd Avenue South, and is open 10am – 5pm Tuesdays – Saturdays, and 1pm – 5pm on Sundays. For more information visit www.saag.ca or phone 327-8770.

Learn more about Lethbridge and the surrounding area by visiting the Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives, located at 502 1st St. South. For more info visit them online at www.galtmuseum.com or phone 320-GALT.

For information about the next New West Theatre production call 381-WEST or visit www.newwesttheatre.com

Volunteering
If you are interested in volunteering there are plenty of opportunities to do so in Lethbridge, and www.volunteerlethbridge.com will provide you with everything you need to know.

These are just a few of the many things to do in Lethbridge. Visit the City of Lethbridge’s website (www.lethbridge.ca) and click on the Enjoying Lethbridge link to get a more comprehensive list of things to do in the city.

Holy poop! I've lived in Lethbridge my whole life, and you just confirmed for me what I long suspected. There is nothing to do in this city.
